October 24–30, 2026

This week newsletter writers shared Anthropic’s IPO filing more than anything else. They also passed around Wiz’s post on AI uncovering critical PHP vulnerabilities. They linked to AP’s report that Trump ordered a Justice Department lawsuit over Alaska’s Senate race. The Guardian’s report that Google illegally felled 250,000 trees in Finland for a data centre was widely read too.

How is this list put together?

Every week Reletter extracts the outbound links from the newsletter issues published across 7m+ newsletters. Links are cleaned up so the same page only counts once (tracking parameters are stripped and redirects unwrapped), then ranked by how many distinct newsletters cited them, so a single newsletter repeating a link cannot push it up. From the top of that ranking we pick ten: the week's biggest story first, then widely shared links on other topics, from politics and the economy to science, sport and the arts.

Why not just show the top of the ranking?

A few subjects take up most of the raw ranking. In a typical week most of the top links are about AI, so a straight top ten would show the same subject over and over. Picking across topics shows the breadth of what newsletters were reading. Every link here was still widely shared, and each one shows how many newsletter issues mentioned it.

What links are left out?

Links from a newsletter to its own site, sharing and subscribe buttons, images and other boilerplate are excluded. So are sponsor links that repeat across most issues of the same newsletter, since those are paid placements rather than citations.

When does it update?

A new list is published every Friday evening covering the week from Saturday to that Friday. Once published, each week is frozen and stays available on its own page.
