Teenagers and their cars in the 1960s, ahh, what a time that was! Cars were slick and fast, and with gasoline being only 25 to 30 cents a gallon, gas mileage was not a big concern. Car racing and cruising were popular pastimes.
On the evening of June 6, 2025, a tornado struck McAlester “Old Town”. One building was heavily damaged with its roof peeled off and the bricks had fallen off into the street. Many large trees were snapped off at the base.
This story is very difficult for me to write. It refers to a childhood trauma that still gives me goose bumps to this day. I hope that it doesn't trigger anything in the reader.
