Because I was faithless, I never got to comb her hair as a child. That would have been one of the things I remembered when the great beast’s heart finally stopped. I’ve painted her four times now. It’s not the same, but almost as nice.
I don’t use live models anymore. I think it’s important for an artist to train with a live model, but it comes with complications, and a lot of times I like to just paint without thinking about it.
