I think for a long time, I saw sadness and positivity as opposites.
One good.
One not so good.
Something to move away from
and something to move towards.
But the older I get, the more I realise it’s not quite that simple.
They don’t...
I’ve always enjoyed making people laugh.
Probably more than I realised at the time.
It wasn’t something I thought about consciously.
It just happened.
A moment.
A comment.
A slight exaggeration.
Sometimes going a bit over the top....
It’s a phrase we’ve all heard.
Teamwork makes the dream work.
For a long time, I probably heard it more than I really understood it.
Growing up in the 70s and 80s, things felt more defined.
There were clearer lines.
Who you were. Where...
I’ve always been sentimental.
More than I probably realised at the time.
Certain songs.
Certain places.
Certain smells.
They don’t just remind me of something.
They take me back.
Not in a vague way.
In a very real way.
A feeling....
This week I’ve been thinking about taking time for yourself.
Without feeling lazy.
Without needing to justify it.
Just being with yourself.
No internal noise.
Just the gentle noise around you.
