Your name
was carved
into my heart.
A yawning
cavern
in twisted
cursive.
Bled out
the wound
when I
tore out
the red thread.
Wouldn’t stop
gushing.
I couldn’t
apply
enough pressure
as I sobbed,
unraveled....
The worst thing
about seeing people?
They ask
how I’m doing.
But aren’t actually
asking me.
They want me to say
”I’m okay”
to stroke their ego
for being
a good Samaritan.
But if I answered honestly?
They’d buckle under...
When my heart broke
my body bowed
under the weight
of the pieces
scratching down
my spine
tangling in my
ribcage.
Sleep
pressed down
on me
for months
if not years,
sapping my energy,
caressing me
into
not deat...
Hateful words,
slivers,
embedded in my nerves
accumulating over years.
At first ignored,
swept under the rug.
But, now?
Quills protrude
out my skin.
Disassociate.
Disappear.
Slivers
stuck
in my throat.
Love whittled...
In my heart there’s a cavern…
yawning and bare,
burned at the edges
preventing it from closing.
It’s in the shape of you.
But, you no longer fit.
My heart is inflamed:
Missing you…
Hurt.
Lost.
Every beat of my thickened he...
