今年二月，《纽约时报》驻华记者王月眉（Vivian Wang）在北京机场被告知居留许可被注销，她将无法再在中国继续做报道。
驻华近四年间，从白纸运动、“铁链女”事件后续、中国人疫情后的心理创伤，到凌晨四点等待招工的中年人、在高楼间奔跑的跑腿员等等——在对华报道愈发侧重于地缘政治的趋势下，Vivian是少数还在中国且关注普通中国人命运的外国记者。而她的离去，无疑对于外媒的中国报道是个严重的损失。
