天気ばかりはどうにもなりませんね。。。
各地で大雨の被害があらわになっていて、
すっかり水に浸かった稲を見ると心が痛い・・お見舞い申し上げます。
さて、集落の圃場について、コンバインで刈り取った米はどこへ行くでしょうか。
ウチの集落は少しだけ特殊かもしれません。

水稲の倒伏耐性、単純じゃないかも
先日、地元福井でも豪雨がありまして。
集落の圃場および周辺の圃場でも水稲の倒伏が発生した。
簡単に言うと、
稲が育ってきて米が実り稲穂が重く垂れてきた頃に、
強風や雨でベターっと倒れちゃう現象。
これまでの品種、主にコシヒカリは背が高くて、
風に弱い特性があった。
台風が過ぎた後なんかは、圃場一面に稲が倒れていてゲンナリしたものです。

はい、２４時間テレビが嫌いです。
初回放送が１９７８年ということで、何とワタシと同い年。
得も言われぬ胡散臭さに、昔から番組が始まるとチャンネルを変えたものです。

今年は集落の農業に深く関わる一年になっているわけですが。
その中の一つが揚水作業。
以前、記事にも起こしましたが、圃場の水管理の作業ですね。
ポンプを稼働して、圃場にあるバルブを開閉して水を入れる。
それ自体も大変なのだが、
そもそも雨が降らないと川の水はどんどん水位が下がっていく。

【プール遊戯にて・人編】合わせようとしない人たち
先日、大型プール施設に行ってきまして。
そこは流れるプールや多種多様なウォータースライダーが楽しめる施設。
お盆の時期もあり、また関西から客が押し寄せるため、
早朝７時から開場待ちに並んだ。
開場ダッシュ（プールサイドは走らないよ）して、
なんとか芝生にテントを設置して拠点を確保した。
