自分では言葉にできなかった十九年間
娘が十九歳になって、家を出た。
発達障害のある娘だった。
その娘が生まれてから、家を出るまでの十九年間を、一冊の本にした。
書くと決めたときには、こんなに大変な作業になるとは思っていなかった。
十九年という時間は長い。
当然、いろんなことがあった。
うれしかったこともある。
心配したこともある。
どうしたらいいかわからなかったこともある。
腹が立ったこともある。
娘のことを理解できなかったこともある。
そして、娘から見れば、僕のことを理解できなかったこと...
「チューリップ」が書けなかった僕は、100枚の物語を書いた。
小学5年生のとき、
「1枚の地図から」
という作文の課題が出た。
一枚の地図を見て、そこから何かを書く。
そういう課題だった。
ほかの子たちは、原稿用紙を1枚か2枚くらい書いていた。
僕は、
100枚書いた。
書けと言われたわけではない。
長い作文を書けば褒められると思ったわけでもない。
ただ、地図を見ていたら物語が始まった。
ここには誰が住んでいるんだろう。
この道はどこへ続いているんだろう。
その先では何が起こるんだろう。
書いているうちに、ま...
