時間を忘れるほど、夢中になっていた。
僕にとって、何かに深く熱中することは大切だ。
楽しさの中へ潜っていく時間がなければ、僕はたぶん息ができなくなる。

「役に立ててよかった」と思う瞬間がある。
仕事で成果を出した。誰かの負担を減らした。困っている人を助けた。「ありがとう」と言ってもらえた。そんなとき、自分がここにいる意味を少しだけ感じることがある。
役に立つことは、うれしい。
だからこそ、反対側が怖くなる。
仕事ができない。体が動かない。誰かに助けてもらうばかりで、何も返せない。そんな日が続いたとき、失われるのは「役割」だけなの...

できて当たり前だったからだ。
けれど、膝が痛くなると、世界が変わる。
一歩を踏み出すことに覚悟がいる。
足を動かすたびに痛みが走る。
