法庭預留 45 日審訊，先用了三日時間處理法律爭議，為確保司法公正，法庭禁止傳媒報道陪審團組成前的聆訊內容，亦禁止任何人披露會辨別死者四名子女身分的資料。法庭最初選出 7 男 2 女陪審團，但有陪審員以健康為由要求退出，法官遂下令解散陪審團並重選，直至本周三重新選出 8 男 1 女陪審團。
