In order to retain the authentic flavour of the story, I have chosen not to translate Hindi dialogue within the text itself. Much of it will be clear from context and a few translations (where necessary) have been provided in the footnotes....
Anisha was the best. An eager to learn, gifted cook, few could compete with her omelette or nimbu pani. It helped that in addition to this, she cracked jokes and liked dogs. We fell in love with her instantly.
