When the sun is shining and the temps are warm I sometimes go out for a walk. But when I take a stroll, I like to get a little extra benefit for my time. So I usually throw on a 40-pound weighted vest to get a more intense workout.
Last year, I happened upon a copy of The Town That Climate Built, an old title by Victor Rainbolt. Published in 1925, it was in essence a lengthy love letter to the progress and promise of a nascent city: Miami.
My annual New Years resolution is never to “exercise more”. After 30 years of doing so, hitting the gym daily is a given. So in terms of goal-setting for the coming year, what I pledge to do at the gym is the real question.
