もっと違った気がするんです。
人は、
ただ情報を流す存在ではなく。
風や土地や記憶を、
一度身体の中に通す存在だった。
海を見て。
火を囲み。
祭りを行い。
歌を歌い。
見えないものと、
共に生きていた。
そう思えるんです。
沖縄の御嶽を訪ねたり祭祀を見ていると...
玉依姫を辿っていたら、また海へ繋がった
千葉県一宮町にある、
玉前神社へ行ってきました。
玉依姫を辿っていたら、
また海へ繋がりました。
沖縄や与那国島を辿っていると、
時々、
「玉」という言葉が、
強く残っている事に気が付きます。
与那国島では、
玉は魂のようにも扱われていた。
与那国島の、
自分の一族が大切にしている香炉の中の一つには、
「玉の神」
を祀っている香炉がある。
それは一年に一度しか表には出てきません。
そして、
玉依姫という名前もまた、
感じさせてくれるものがあり...
潮は、記憶を運んでくる
夜の海を見ていると、時々、不思議な感覚になる事があります。
潮の流れは、
ただ海水を運んでいるだけではない。
そこには、
もっと古い“記憶”のようなものが
混ざっている気がするのです。
古代の海洋民族は、
海を「境界」としてではなく、
“道”として見ていた。
潮の流れ、
星の位置、
風の向き、
黒潮。
それらを読みながら、
人々は島から島へ渡っていった。
そして、
その旅の中で残されたものが、
唄であ...
印としての御嶽
御嶽を見ていると、
そこだけが“聖地”だったとは思えない時があります。
むしろ、
本当に重要だったものを示す“印”として、
そこに置かれていたようにも感じるのです。
沖縄の御嶽には、
背後に海があり山があり城がある場所が多い。
そしてそこには、
崖があり、
港があり、
潮の流れがあり、
風の通り道がある。
それは単なる景観だけの話しではなく、
海から世界を見ていた人達の感覚そのものだったのかもしれません。

揺らぎの中にある記憶を辿る旅。
海の向こうに残る記憶を、今日も少し辿っていきます。
沖縄の地名を見ていると、ただの“場所の名前”ではない事に気付く時があります。
そこには、昔の人達が“この島をどう見ていたのか”という感覚が静かに残っている事を感じる事が出来ます。
