しかし、その神話の舞台を実際に歩き、その土地に今も残る祈りに触れたことがある人は、そう多くはないのではないでしょうか。
自分も最初は、本を読んだり、地元のおじぃちゃんやおばあちゃんに聞いたり、神話を知るところから始まりました。

その彼女と出会ったのは音声配信だった。
最初は、自分のLIVEによく遊びに来てくれるリスナーさん。
最初はそれだけだった。
でも話をしているうちに、同じ沖縄出身だという事が分かった。
沖縄を離れて暮らしている者同士。
それだけでも少し距離が縮まった。
ところが話はそこで終わらなかった。
ある日、地元の話になった。
話を聞いてみると、まさかの同じ地元。
しかも後輩だった。
世間は狭いなぁ。

御嶽という名前
千葉県山武市に「御嶽(みたけ)神社」という神社がある。

最初に気になったのは森でも社殿でもなかった。
「御嶽」という字だった。
沖縄には御嶽（うたき）と呼ばれる祈りの場所がある。
自分はこれまで沖縄各地の御嶽を巡り、与那国島では一族が守る御嶽にも足を運んできた。
だから地図の上で「御嶽神社」という文字を見つけた時、思わず目が止まった。

本当に来たのかよ！
昔、自分はロックバーをやっていた。
その頃、自分には好きなバンドがいた。
イエロースタッズだ。
CDでいつも聴いていた。
YouTubeでMVも見ていた。
でもライブには一度も行った事がなかった。
そんなある日、自分は店の宣伝も兼ねてイベントをやろうと思った。
そして思った。
呼ぶならこのバンドしかいない。
