Last night Kyiv lived through another one.
Explosions, drones, missiles, broken sleep. I have nothing new to add.
There are only so many ways a person can say that Russia tried to kill us again.
So today I want to tell you about a tree....
This morning, I watched a woman buying flowers near the metro.
Yellow ones.
I was close enough to hear her arguing a little about the price, just life pretending to be normal, I thought, and right after she walked away holding them agains...
Russia spent the week telling diplomats to leave Kyiv.
Telling foreign residents to leave Kyiv.
It warned embassies to empty their offices, treating a capital city like a room with a light switch.
As if life could be folded and zipped in...
Two nights ago, Russia tried to make fear the only reality in Kyiv.
It may have been one of the largest attacks since the war began, but numbers are not what stayed with me.
Drones and missiles came for ordinary life again.
