What kind of Chinese do you speak?

In my family, we spoke a mix of Mandarin and English growing up, though we never called it Mandarin. It was either 中文 (zhong wen) or Chinese. Blissfully ignorant in my youth, I was under the impression there was only one type of Chinese.
