2年前の私は、動けずにいました。
長年勤めた仕事を辞め、田舎に土地と家を買いました。
自然の中で野菜を育てたい。
自分の好きなことをして生きていきたい。
そんな夢を持って、大きな決断をしたはずでした。
ところが……。
いざ土地と家を手に入れてみると、不思議なくらい動けないのです。
土地もある。
家もある。
時間だってある。
誰かに止められているわけでもない。
それなのに、引っ越すことさえできない...

8月中旬にスタートした「そらいろキッチン」。
気がつけば、あっという間に2か月が過ぎました。
初めての飲食店。
慣れないことばかりで、毎日が試行錯誤の連続です。
それでも、ありがたいことに、本当にたくさんのお客様が足を運んでくださっています。
そして何より嬉しいのが、何度も来てくださるリピーターさんたちの存在。
一度来てくださった方が、お友達を連れてきてくださったり、ご家族で立ち寄ってくださったり。
少しずつ、少しずつ、人と人とのつながりが広がっていく。

今日、見てしまいました。
私が飼っている日本ミツバチが、
キイロスズメバチに捕まって、連れて行かれるところを。
そして、食べられていました。
「ああ……かわいそう。」
毎日、巣箱から元気に飛び立っていく姿を見ている私にとって、
日本ミツバチは、ただの「虫」ではありません。
暑い日はみんなで羽を震わせ、
せっせと花粉を運び、
小さな体で一生懸命に暮らしています。
