先日、若い女性職員が退職した。
正確には、まだ退職日を迎えていない。
現在、有給消化中である。
つまり、まだ職員ではある。
ただし、職場にはいない。
これまで頑張ってきたのだから、それでいい。
ただ、こちらは今日も仕事である。
そんなある日。
「すみません。子どもが熱を出したので、今日は休ませてもらっていいですか？」
私は笑顔で答える。
