これは家の中だけ対策しても、
なかなか終わらないかもしれない。
すでに市役所にも相談...
陽が沈むころ
私には、好きな場所がある。
その場所のことは、ここ、サブスタックでしか話していない。
身近な家族も、友達も知らない。
仕事でたまに来る場所で、
ひとりになる。
私は、ひとりになることが嫌いじゃない。
むしろ、好きなのかもしれない。
だんだん夜になっていく時間も好き。
陽が沈んでいくと、
「もう、頑張らなくていいよ」
と言われているような気がするから。
明るいうちは、
なんとなく頑張らなきゃいけない気がする。
ちゃんとしなきゃ。

ふと思う。
私は、よく相談される。
仕事のこと。
家族のこと。
人間関係のこと。
いろんな話を聞いてきた。
そのとき私は、
どうしたらいいかを一緒に考えることもあるけれど、
まずは、その人の気持ちを聞く。
「そうだったんだね」
「辛かったね」
「それはしんどかったね」
そんな言葉しか出てこないこともある。
でも、それでいいと思っている。
なぜなら私自身、
辛いときに誰かに話を聞いてほしかったから。

朝、蘭はいつもより少し早く目を覚ました。
時計を見ると、まだ五時四十分。
もう一度眠ろうと思ったけれど、なかなか眠れない。
昨夜から、あの家のことが頭から離れなかった。
庭の一本の木。
玄関に置かれた、誰も履かなくなった靴。
そして、窓から差し込んでいた午後の光。
「家って、残された人のものでもあるんだな……」
布団の中で、蘭は小さく呟いた...
家を片付けるということ。
お孫さんから相談を受けました。
おばあちゃんと一緒に暮らしていた家を、どうするか。
解体して更地にして、最後は国に返すことを考えているそうです。
お父さんはいらっしゃる。
でも、その家のことを
「自分に任せてもらっている」と話してくれました。
どうして自分が任されることになったのか。
そこには、きっといろいろな事情があるのだと思います。
でも、私はあえて深くは聞きませんでした。
